Kit Contents

  • PoE cape
  • Ethernet loop cable to connect the shield to the BeagleBone of ~7.5 cm length

Set-up

  1. Disconnect any other power source from the BeagleBone and leave it disconnected when using the cape
  2. Snap on the cape (no need for screws as the dual-row pin headers will hold the cape tightly)
  3. Connect the BeagleBone's ethernet port with the J2 ethernet jack from the cape (small one)
  4. Connect a 802.3af compliant PoE injector (usually an ethernet switch) to the PoE in ethernet jack J1

Performance Test

Carried out on a BeagleBone enhanced.
