REACH

The European chemicals regulation REACH stands for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.

The obligation to provide information under REACH Article 33 for substances in articles applies only to so-called substances of very high concern (SVHCs). The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) determines which substances fall into this category (see REACH Article 59). The current version of the Candidate List can be viewed on the ECHA website.

Based on information received from our suppliers, some n-fuse products contain SVHCs above the threshold values required for declaration under Article 33. Potentially, further declaration obligations may arise for n-fuse products under Article 33, for example, through the publication of new SVHCs in the Candidate List. As soon as the obligation to declare Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) arises in further n-fuse products, information about the affected products and the SVHCs they contain will be declared in the data sheet of the product.

RoHS

The restriction of lead and nine other potentially hazardous substances used in electrical and electronic equipment is stipulated by the EU RoHS Directive.

Below, we provide you with an overview of the directive's contents.

On July 21, 2011, Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 8, 2011, on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (the so-called RoHS Directive) entered into force. In Germany, the Directive is implemented through a separate regulation, the Ordinance on the Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Electrical and Electronic Equipment Substances Ordinance – ElektroStoffV), which necessitates an amendment to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act. The RoHS Directive is subject to a continuous re-evaluation cycle. Specifically, this means that every four years new substances can be banned, and exemptions can be removed or added. In July 2019, Annex II of the Directive was amended by Amendment (EU) 2015/863. The list of regulated substances was expanded to include four so-called plasticizers. However, the original name of Directive 2011/65/EU remains unchanged.
